Digital Marketing Mentors Online – My Story
Back in the early 2000’s I was a struggling stuntman who needed another income. I jumped from job to job, trying to keep the wolf from the door in-between stunt jobs. Here’s me on a TV show called No Offence doubling for actor Emmet Scanlan.
I needed another income because the stunt jobs were initially few and far between. The internet seemed like the perfect solution because I could work when and where I wanted and take a job when the phone rang!
2020
In 2020 everything changed and whole industries were shut down. I was running kung fu classes and the government shut us down, the film industry came to a close too. I started doing online classes but it was the online business which really took off. Before 2020 I was working on my affiliate business, collecting emails and promoting an online course I had found in 2014.
Some of my email subscribers had been on my list for 2 years and over.
There was an above average number of people wanting to start an online business because so many people had been hit by the sudden change in the world.
Even today, the online world is an important part of many people’s lives and offers a means to earn an income which wasn’t previously possible. This can give you more financial certainty in an uncertain world, allow you to travel and live abroad, anywhere in the world. Providing you have a laptop and internet connection you can work from anywhere if you learn digital marketing skills.
What’s More Important For You?
What’s most important for you? Living life on your own terms (and in a purposeful way) seems more important than ever. The lockdowns of 2020 showed people that there was a different way to live and this changed people’s perception of work permanently. So if you’re looking for a means to earn online, or have an existing business you want to develop with online marketing, I highly recommend investing in your financial future by learning digital marketing skills.
Despite a lot of people wanting life to go “back to normal” it seems clear for a growing number of us that this isn’t happening and isn’t going to happen. Learning digital marketing skills may well be the key to arming yourself for the new world which is fast approaching.
With artificial intelligence taking over in many sectors of the workplace, it’s an important decision to give yourself some skills which are of use in the future.
What An Online Business Can Give You
A completely online business can give you both time and financial freedom. When you can work from anywhere, without a boss and on your own terms, it opens a lot of opportunities. For me, it was a financial reason initially which prompted me to start an online business. Over time, it became my mission to help others realise the huge potential of what an online business can do for them.
To earn an independent income from the internet means you don’t have to do the jobs you dislike. You don’t have to deal with horrible bosses, or a long commute. But it also gives you more choice, so you can pursue more meaningful goals which are aligned with who you are and what’s meaningful to you.
A recent Gallop Poll showed that around 85% of workers were dissatisfied with their work. So what’s the answer? I believe that learning digital skills gives everyone an opportunity to earn an independent income. This gives them autonomy from their careers and greater freedom to make decisions for them, rather than the companies or corporations they work for.
An online business can also allow you to live in a manner more conducive to your happiness and well being. This is something many people want. Most people aren’t interested in Lamborgini’s and mansions. They want to be happy!
For many this means stepping away from their jobs. Building an independent income can give people more freedom and time.
